Ready to start a committed meditation practice?
The Challenge: Stick to a Meditation Practice
Saturday morning class will begin with 30 minutes of guided breathing and meditation followed by an hour of yoga postures. If you are new to sitting still with your thoughts, practices like a guided meditation is a great place to start. You will need to bring a cushion/blanket to sit on as well as a yoga mat.
For a regular meditation (or at least sitting) practice, it is more useful to sit for a set period of time every day, even if it’s only 10 minutes to begin with, than to sit for an hour one day and none for the next several days. Sitting regularly develops the habit of sitting regularly. The commitment and discipline alone create changes that we may not be aware of, and over time we may begin to notice that we’re calmer, more tolerant, less reactive – maybe not every day, but increasingly over time.
Class is from 9 – 10.30 AM at Wandsworth Community Centre, Ballyhackamore and cost is £7.
